Renaud Wald was born in 1976, and has lived in Paris for 25 years.
When he was a teenager, Renaud discovered his passion for Art, and in particular, painting, after reading a novel. Instantly, he dreamed of an inviting studio open to his friends.
At the age of 16, Renaud enrolled for evening art classes in his hometown. After some time, he decided to join the School of Fine Arts in Versailles. However, due to the school’s incomplete teaching and his turbulent adolescence, he left everything against his own wishes. In the following years, he became a photographer working in the world of fashion.
Twenty years later, his desire to paint was reborn. The desire became increasingly compelling, and finally, he dared to try it once more. Now, Renaud Wald works as a self-taught painter and devotes himself daily to his art.
He possesses a beautiful workshop where he receives his friends, exactly like he had dreamed of as a teenager.
My work is part of the tradition of ancient masters, but with a contemporary look, a modern composition.
I like to paint the flesh, the skin, the female body; in search of a passive eroticism, imbued with absence.
